CD Reviews (In Print!): Party-Hardy Ecuadorian Baroque and the Dean of Revolutionary Clarinet

The Spring 2012 edition of Early Music America is at your local newsstand now!  It includes my coverage of a disc of lively, lovely and firmly cross-cultural sounds from seventeenth century Ecuador, as well as simmering clarinet sonatas from the man who wrote the book on the clarinet in modern France (even if he never intended to), Monsieur Xavier Lefèvre.

Pemi Paull also writes about new recordings capturing the youthful fire of Vivaldi‘s choral music, and the staff discusses music education outreach at a Maryland elementary school in “I Have A Friend Named Viola…”  All this, plus great reviews, interviews and news from the world of early music.  No broadband connection needed!
