I use the term “remind” at least four times in my coverage of Boston Civic Symphony‘s concert on Wednesday night. Probably not the most resourceful prose.
Still, this incredible performance recapped the role of a conductor, how all great composers are also great students, why it’s so important to encourage young musicians and what makes the symphony orchestra such a vivid, varied and beautiful engine of sound.
You can read more reminders as well as a lot of references to “rhythm” and “texture” (and see more of Mickey Goldin‘s beautiful photos) in my review on The Boston Musical Intelligencer here. Thanks, as always, for reading!
